This easy and delicious lasagna recipe is inspired by Adar, who uses Alfredo sauce instead of ricotta cheese for a rich and creamy texture. Perfect for meal prepping and freezing, especially during Ramadan, to save time on busy days.
1. Meat sauce: Put a pot on high heat, add in the olive oil, chopped onions, and garlic. Sauté for a couple of minutes until softened. Next, add in the ground beef and cook until the beef is browned. Then, add in the seasonings and mix again. Add in the marinara sauce, give it a good mix, cover, and simmer on medium to low heat for about 30 minutes. Once done, add in a handful of fresh basil and the sauce is ready.
2. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
3. Start assembling the lasagna: Spread about 2 ladles of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange 6 ready-to-bake lasagna sheets over the meat sauce. Top the lasagna sheets with more meat sauce, 1 cup Alfredo sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Repeat until you have 3 layers. Top it with more mozzarella cheese. Into the oven it goes for 40 minutes. Once it comes out of the oven, let it rest for 10 minutes, garnish it with some parsley, and enjoy.
